Before marijuana was legalized for medical and recreational purposes, it wasn’t so simple to smoke marijuana wherever you happen to be.
Hotels were easily the worst places you could go.
I went to a hotel one time and I had a strong smell of marijuana. The guy at the front desk told me that any hint of marijuana in the room would carry a hefty $250 cleaning charge. There was no way that I was going to stand outside during the night to smoke. It was extremely chilly outside that night and there was snow on the ground. I decided to test the theory at the hotel. I went into the powder room and I turned the shower on until the whole powder room was filled up with steam. I turned on the fan in the powder room and I lit up a huge joint. I blew the smoke into the exhaust fan in the powder room. I also placed a wet towel under the door so the odor would stay in one area. When I was eventually done smoking in the powder room, I sprayed a special deodorizer that is designed to eliminate all odors including nicotine and marijuana odor. I was never caught smoking in the powder room and I never got a charge, so the next time my good buddy and I went somewhere my pal and I smoked in the powder room again. Unfortunately, this time around, the odor ended up in the very next room. There was a knock on the door when my good buddy and I were still in the shower smoking marijuana. My good friend and I got into a small amount of trouble and the hotel director kept threatening to kick us out of the room altogether.
