I am used to being a night owl and the new shift does not change my body’s natural sleep schedule.
When I started working at the cannabis shop, I worked every single night during the week. My shift usually started at 3 or 4 in the day and I worked until the cannabis shop was closed at 11. I really liked the evening and day hours. They gave me a lot of time in the day to get my chores completed. When the new employer took over and started writing the schedule, my hours changed hastily. Now I start my shift at 10 in the day and I toil until the early evening hours. I’m really having a hard time getting used to the early day shift. I used to sleep until 10 in the day, and now I have to set an alarm every day to wake up. The daytime hours are killing me. I have not been able to get any of my chores completed and I still stay up late at night. I am used to being a night owl and the new shift does not change my body’s natural sleep schedule. I decided to talk to the new employer on Tuesday about the schedule. I told his that I was having trouble and I asked if there was any option that I would be able to go back to the regular shift I was working before. The employer told me that he needed a strong budtender on day shift and that was why he chose to change my schedule; She also told me that he had his eye on me for a promotion. It was strenuous to argue about my hours after hearing that.
